Two interesting individuals were walking through Franklin on their separate treks across the country recently, and happened to meet. Andrew Forsthoefel (right above) of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania is walking across the America to listen to people’s stories and honor the idea that we are all heroes. The 23-year-old began his journey in Pennsylvania on Oct. 14 and has walked approximately 1,400 miles. More information about Andrew’s experience can be found at walkingtolisten.com. George Throop (left above) began his adventure on Sept. 20, 2009 and has walked over 3,300 miles. The 36-year-old began his journey from his home in Vancouver, Washington and is walking to inspire healthier lifestyles. More information about George and his cause can be found at enjoythewalk.org. Andrew and George spent the night at the home of Franklin resident Paul Fitch before continuing their individual walks, in opposite directions, on Monday morning. They would both like to thank Paul for his hospitality and the crawfish etouffee’!
