The Central Catholic Lady Eagles defeated Ellender on the road Wednesday, 3-2.

Both teams were done scoring by the bottom of the second inning, as Ellender struck for two runs in the bottom of the first, and CCHS responded with three in the top of the second.

Brittany Longman earned the complete game victory for CCHS, who split its contest this week with District 8-4A competition, falling to Morgan City, 4-2, in nine innings on Tuesday. In seven innings pitched on Wednesday, Longman allowed two earned runs on five hits and struck out five to improve to 2-2 overall.

At the plate, Megan Landry led CCHS with a triple, an RBI and a run; Celine Flores added a double, an RBI and a run; and Longman had a single and a run.

The Lady Eagles (6-6) will return to action Friday against Franklin at 3:30 p.m. in the opening round of the CCHS tournament in Amelia.
