The Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control ordered a raid of Club Tabu in Amelia Saturday after receiving numerous complaints from concerned citizens regarding underage drinking and confirming the allegations during an undercover investigation.

ATC Commissioner Troy Hebert said undercover agents witnessed all three bartenders working sell to a minor. As a result, the raid was ordered. It was completed with the assistance of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana State Police.

As a result, Club Tabu was cited for five counts of sale of alcohol to persons under the age of 21. The bartenders are facing criminal charges for the sales along with the underage patrons found in possession of alcoholic beverages. The owner will face an administrative hearing that will be held on April 12 at ATC headquarters in Baton Rouge.

During the same weekend, ATC also investigated Cherries II, Peppermints, Yellow Rose Lounge and Temptations but found no violations.

In other news, in Patterson, officials arrested Malcolm Williams, 36, of Loveland Street in Patterson for seventh offense possession of marijuana and on a probation hold at 4:17 p.m. Thursday.

He was arrested on Park Street with a female who was charged for first offense possession of marijuana after officers received a complaint, Chief Patrick LaSalle said.

Williams remained incarcerated this morning with no bond set.
