OPELOUSAS – Two police officers are among three persons arrested in a felony theft case.

Opelousas police investigators charge Opelousas Officer Yolanda Lewis, 34, and Ville Platte Officer Nicholas Frank, 29 with conspiracy to commit felony theft.

Also charged is Lewis’ husband Quinn, 36.

According to police, Quinn Lewis and several others were under investigation in the Ville Platte area and the probe led to Opelousas where some of the stolen items were hidden.

Investigators said Officer Lewis, a six-year member of the OPD, and Frank, a one-year policeman, allegedly met with the suspects and coached them into making statements that would keep Quinn Lewis out of jail.

The trio was arrested Monday and other arrests are pending, police said.

The police officers are charged with obstruction of justice and malfeasance in office.

Quinn Lewis is charged with conspiracy to commit felony theft, possession of stolen goods and obstruction of justice.
