Following Friday’s rainout, the Hanson Lady Tigers strung together consecutive victories over Erath and Cecilia on Saturday.
HANSON 11, ERATH 4
Hanson hurlers Evelyn Pontiff and Emily Champagne led the Lady Tigers to an 11-4 victory over the Erath Lady Bobcats.
Pontiff earned the mound win as the starter, pitching three innings, allowing one earned run with five walks and four strikeouts. Champagne appeared in relief, tossing four innings, yielding three earned runs on two hits with seven walks and three strikeouts.
Leading hitters for HMS were: Brittany Broussard, 2 for 5, triple, double, run, RBI; Kim Sonnier, 2 for 2, 3 runs; Mallory Chaisson, 2 for 4, double, 2 RBI; Emily Sonnier, 1 for 1, 2 RBI, run; Paige Diamond, 2 for 4, RBI; Macy Simoneaux, 2 for 4, 2 runs and Lexi Coleman, 1 for 3, run.
HANSON 3, CECILIA 2
Mallory Chaisson and Emily Sonnier each belted a double while supporting the clutch pitching of Evelyn Pontiff and Emily Champagne in Hanson’s 3-2 victory over the Cecilia Lady Bulldogs.
Evelyn Pontiff started for the Lady Tigers, working three innings, not surrendering a run while striking out two, giving up two hits with one walk.
Emily Champagne worked four frames, allowing two earned runs on four hits with three walks.
Chaisson led the Lady Tigers at the plate with a 1 for 2 outing on a double with one RBI and one run. Emily Sonnier went 1 for 3 with a double and a run.
Hanson’s Lady Tigers built a 3-0 lead over the first three frames with one run in the first, second and third innings. Cecilia posted its two runs with one each in the fifth and one in the seventh.
Hanson (7-0) will play host to the Loreauville Lady Tigers today at 4 p.m.
