Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reminded participants in this weekend’s nostalgic cruise that the city’s open container law remains in effect.

The second “Let’s Go Riding Franklin” cruise is likely to bring hundreds of people into the city for the occasion.

McGuire said the city council did not lift Franklin’s open container ordinance for the event. Alcohol can only be consumed on private property, she said.

“Have a good time, enjoy yourself,” McGuire said. “But no open containers in vehicles, in a public right of way, only on private property.”
