Randy James Vaughn was born in Morgan City on April 17, 1975, to Rebecca Ann Sons Dunham and Byron James Fontenot. Randy passed away on March 16, 2012, at the age of 36.
Randy’s world revolved around his family. Randy was the best father, hands down; a husband that no one could ever compare to; and a fun-loving, truth-giving friend. Randy had a deep respect and a strong faith in God.
Randy was a machinist by trade, but he was really a jack of all trades. When anyone needed him, he was there. He loved the outdoors and playing around with everyone. He instilled in his daughters the will to succeed and excel in everything they were involved with. He worked for 15 years at Tri-City Pipe and Machine. He always put all of his effort into everything he did.
Randy is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 16 years, Hope Pilgrim Vaughn; his girls, his pride, Alyssa Nicole, Kelsey Marie, and Riley Elizabeth Vaughn; his mother, Becky Dunham and her husband Kenny; his father, Byron Fontenot and his wife Donna; and his adoptive father, Karl Vaughn. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Eunice Gibson; his paternal grandparents, Carol and Belle Fontenot; his great-grandmother, Evela Fontenot; his paternal grandparents, Elise and Albert Vaughn; his siblings, Joey Vaughn, Valerie Fontenot Thompson, Chasiti Dunham and Dayton Dunham; and countless other family members.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nicole Michelle Vaughn; his grandfathers, Leo Sons, Chuck Gibson and Bill Wolter; his great-grandmothers, Eline Comeaux Giroir, Beatrice Haywood and Archie Sons; and many unnamed loved ones.
A time of remembrance and reflection will be Tuesday, March 20, 2012, 6-10 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Wednesday, 8-9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Randy will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy White, Kevin Billiot, Walter Vaughn Jr., Tippy Lovell Jr., Terry Vaughn Jr., Cody Freed and Dean Rink.
