Buckeye 2, Hanson Memorial 1
In the opener, the Lady Tigers dropped a 2-1 decision to Buckeye in International tie-breakers rule in seven innings.
With the game knotted at 1-1, Buckeye scored in the extra inning, pulling out the 2-1 win while handing the Lady Tigers their first setback of the season. According to the international rules, the final batter was placed on second base where the Buckeye managed to deliver the runner, earning the 2-1 win.
Hanson was unable to score in its at bat as Buckeye pulled out the 2-1 win in extra innings.
Hanson’s Emily Champagne took the mound loss despite an outstanding effort on the rubber. Champagne gave up two runs over six innings on three hits while striking out six and not issuing a free pass.
Top hitters for the Lady Tigers were: Brittany Broussard, 2 for 4, run and Emily Sonnier, 1 for 3.
Hanson Memorial 14, Parkway 1
Evelyn Pontiff earned improved to 9-0 on the season as the Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers routed Parkway 14-1.
Pontiff (9-0) hurled a complete game, surrendering only one run on three hits with three strikeouts and two walks.

NEW IBERIA 6, HANSON 1
In Saturday’s opening round action, the New Iberia Senior High School Lady Yellow Jackets topped the Hanson Lady Tigers 6-1.
Hanson’s Mackenzie Hebert took the mound loss after tossing all seven innings, yielding six runs on eight hits with one strikeout and two walks.
Leading hitters for the Hanson Lady Tigers were: Kim Sonnier, 2 for 3, 2 doubles; Brittany Broussard, 1 for 2, run and Morgan Baudoin, 1 for 3.
Hanson 5, E. D. White 2
Hanson’s Emily Champagne notched the mound victory, sending the HMS Lady Tigers to a 5-2 win over the E. D. White Lady Cardinals on Saturday evening.
Champagne held the Lady Cardinals in check, allowing two runs over on three hits with three strikeouts and four walks over seven complete innings.

The Hanson Lady Tigers (11-2) will open District 8-A action today at home at 4 p.m. at the HMS Girls Softball.
