Central Catholic High School’s Megan Landry continued her dominance on the mound Thursday as she tossed a no hitter and struck out nine in the Lady Eagles’ 8-0 victory against Gueydan.

In the District 8-1A victory, Landry (10-7 overall, 2-0 in district) went a complete seven innings and also walked two.

CCHS coach Joe Russo said his defense played well behind Landry, too

“Overall, we had a pretty good day,” he said.

CCHS scored four runs in the second, another in the fourth and three more in the sixth.

At the plate, Abbie Bergeron led the Lady Eagles’ offense with three hits, including a triple, a stolen base and two runs, while Kimberly Russo added a single, a stolen base and a run.

Olivia Crawford and Grace Pecoraro each finished with a hit and two runs apiece, while Brittany Longman, Landry, Caroline Byrne and Paige Thomas all recorded a single apiece.

The Lady Eagles (13-9, 2-0) will return to action on Saturday when they host Ellender at 1 p.m. in Bayou Vista.
