PGC has sponsored the City of Patterson in Louisiana Garden Club Federation Cleanest City Contest. Judging will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Plans were discussed concerning the judging and areas that need to be tended to prior to judging.

The club urges residents to pick up litter, mow lawns, clean along fence lines and clean up any abandoned items lying around, not only on their own property but public access areas as well.

Members discussed an April 14 trip to the New Orleans Botanical Gardens in City Park for its Spring Garden Show.

Highlight of the meeting was drawing the names of winners for the Ways and Means Committee fundraiser. Winners received gift cards to Marvin’s Gardens in Patterson.

First place winner is Verna Gautreaux, $250; second is Ronald Hall, $150; and third is Andrew Bienvenu, $100.

PGC expressed thanks to everyone that purchased raffle tickets for helping to make the annual fundraiser a success.

Yard of the Month winners for March were announced. They are Gordon and Carla Sanders on Kelly Drive and Emma and Floyd Estay on Main Street.

A plant exchange was held at the end of the meeting, along with the half and half drawing, which was won by Evelyn Estay.
