Author Lana Laws Downing of Franklin will be signing copies of her book “Heaven and High Water” at the Louisiana State Museum in Patterson this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of the Cypress Sawmill Festival weekend. “Heaven and High Water” is a collection of 16 short stories based on events at a south Louisiana cypress logging camp in the 1920s. The event is free and open to the public.
