Tuesday morning, Berwick and Centerville high school students participated in the Safe and Sober Prom campaign in Berwick. Heather Verret from Berwick High School played the roll of a drunk driver being arrested. Participating agencies include State Police Troop I, Berwick police and fire departments, East St. Mary Rescue Team, St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office, the 16th Judicial District Attorney's Office, Franklin Marshal's Office, Acadian Ambulance, Hargrave Funeral Home, Mac Bruno Sound, MADD, the Red Ribbon Committee and St. Mary Parish School Board. The Safe and Sober Prom campaign across St. Mary Parish has been extremely successful for many years and plans are already under way for next year's campaign. More events will be held through the end of the school year.
