Mrs. Evelyn “Maw Maw” Brown Benjamin, 73, a resident of Patterson and native of Opelousas, died Monday, March 26, 2010, at 5:30 p.m., at her residence following a short illness.

She is survived by four sons, Patrick Benjamin, Christopher Benjamin, Mark Benjamin and Troy Benjamin, all of Patterson; two daughters, Myra Condolle of Patterson and Myoshi Minor of Austell, Georgia; three brothers, Leroy Brown of Detroit, Michigan, Lester Brown of Houston, Texas and Tony Brown of Opelousas; four sisters, Rose Burligh, Rena Frank and Pricilla Brown, all of Opelousas and Lee Nora Stewart of Port Barre; 23 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Benjamin was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Visitations will be observed at the Deep Waters Ministry in Patterson Saturday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at that church, with Pastor Lee Condolle of One Faith Fellowship Christian Center officiating.

Interment will follow in the Shield Cemetery in Patterson.
