“A wise man once said don’t cry because it’s over, but smile because it happened! It is hard to believe in 365 days I’ve attended over 70 events and it all has flown by right in front of my eyes. A year has past since my dream of being Patterson Cypress Sawmill Festival Queen became a reality.
“The minute the MC called contestant number 5 my legs started to tremble and tears starting pouring out of my eyes! The moment the crown was placed on my head I didn’t take it as a crown and banner, I took it as an opportunity to represent a city and festival I hold so dear to my heart.
“From skinning a catfish in Des Allemands, dressing up like a tree in Bridge City, eating tons of jambalaya in Gonzales, shoving 18 kumquats in my mouth in Plaquemines Parish, and picking strawberries in Ponchatoula, I had an amazing time at each and every event.
“I made memories that will last a lifetime and friendships that will never be broken. I had my amazing Patterson Cypress Sawmill Festival board right by my side through it all; they truly made my year memorable. I don’t count this as a goodbye, just the end of my story as Patterson Cypress Sawmill Festival Queen XVIII.
“For the last time hop in your pirogue and row on down to the best festival around. Come enjoy our great Cajun cuisine while bogeying down to that wonderful swamp. Come try your arm at a home run or play some golf.
“There is log rolling and passe partout, so many things for me and you. So grab all your family and tell all your friends to meet you at the place where the fun never ends. The only thing missing from my festival is you.
“So come join me this weekend here your guaranteed a knee-knockin’, toe-tappin’ good time and as we say in the Cypress Capital of the World, laissez les bon temps rouler.
“Proudly representing the wonderful people of Patterson, the Cypress Capital of the World and the home of the original ‘Who Dat’ nation I am and forever will be your Patterson Cypress Sawmill Festival Queen XVIII SKyla Noelle Webster.”

“I am truly saddened that my reign as the Patterson Cypress Sawmill Festival Teen Queen is coming to an end, but I am overjoyed by all of the wonderful memories I have created over this past year with new friends and old that I will keep with me for the rest of my life.
“It was overwhelming to go around and hear little kids say, ‘Mom, look! It’s a princess!’ or always being greeted as ‘Hello Ms. Queen!’”
“The Patterson Cypress Sawmill Festival is truly one of a kind. Put on by the greatest board of directors I have ever met in my life, the weekend is one that anyone can enjoy, and never forget!”
“Thank you everyone who helped me this past year, even if in the slightest way you have all touched my heart. I invite everyone this Friday, Saturday and Sunday to the 22nd annual Patterson Cypress Sawmill Festival (recently awarded the 2011 Division 2 Festival of the Year) held at Kemper Williams from sunup to sundown. It is going to be a great time! Just make sure you bring your dancing shoes!”
“Proudly representing my hometown of Patterson, the home of the original Cypress Capital Of The World, and the very first ‘Who Dat!’ I am and forever will be your Teen Patterson Cypress Sawmill Festival Queen XVIII Rachel Michelle Lemoine. Thank you and God bless.”
