OPELOUSAS – Services will be Wednesday for two Opelousas Catholic School cheerleaders who died from injuries suffered when their vehicle pulled in front of another on La. 182.

Juniors Sarah Jarrell, 17, and Morgan Adams, 16, were on their way to 6 p.m. Mass on Thursday when their car pulled from Montgomery Drive south of Opelousas into the path of an on-coming vehicle, State Police said.

The on-coming vehicle crashed into the driver’s door of the girls’ vehicle

Both girls died late Saturday night.

Troopers said the drive of the second car and two passengers sustained minor to moderate injuries.

The school is closed Wednesday to allow students and faculty to attend the joint services.

Services will be at 10 a.m. at St. Landry Catholic Church.

Separate graveside services will follow for the girls who were virtually inseparable, according to family and friends.
