A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at St. Jules Catholic Church in Franklin for Cifrid J. Mendoza, 102, a native of Charenton, former resident of Franklin and resident of New Iberia, who died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at New Iberia Manor North in New Iberia.
Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Thomas Vu will be the celebrant of the Mass.
Cifrid was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, having served during WWII.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Sadie Dugas Mendoza of New Iberia; and two nephews, Wallace J. Bonin and his wife, Carolyn, and David J. Bonin Sr., both of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Anaise Sinitiere Mendoza; and one sister, Hazel Mendoza Bonin.
The family requests that visitation be observed at St. Jules Catholic Church in Franklin on Wednesday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
