Avoyelles Sheriff Doug Anderson said Dwayne E. Franks, 34, argued with his girl friend just before daylight, then shot Michelle Lee, 26, in face with a .380 caliber handgun.
Lee fled to a neighbor’s yard where she collapsed. Frank then shot himself, Anderson said.
Lee’s children, ages 8 and 11, were home at the time and turned over to the Office of Child Services.
