A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at 2 p.m., at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin for Mrs. Beverly Ann Bergeron Nelson, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, 76, a native of New Orleans, former longtime resident of Franklin and a resident of Jeanerette for the past 12 years, who passed away Monday, April 9, 2012, at 11:45 p.m., at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Burial will follow in the Perpetual Park Cemetery. Father Gregory Cormier, along with Deacon Douglas Hebert, will officiate the services.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Earl Nelson, of Jeanerette; three children, Becky Nelson of Prospect; Alex Earl Nelson of Alexandria; and Eric Jerome Nelson and his wife, Kristi, of Franklin; one brother, Alvin “Butch” Bergeron Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Franklin; one sister, Gwen B. Cole of Franklin; three grandchildren, Beau Bonin of Prospect, Brett Nelson of Franklin and Brant Nelson of Franklin; and two great grandchildren, Trevor Bonin and Matthew Bonin of Pollock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Bergeron Sr. and Catherine B. Bergeron; one grandson, Shea Bonin; and one brother-in-law, Hilliard Cole.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at the Church of the Assumption, from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 2 p.m. The rosary will be prayed at 1 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Alex Nelson, Eric Nelson, Butch Bergeron, Beau Bonin, Gene Louviere and Huey Louviere. Honorary pallbearers will be Brett Nelson, Brant Nelson, Trevor Bonin and Matthew Bonin.
