Mrs. Nita Roy Dixon Provost, 76, a resident and native of the St. Joseph Community, died Monday, April 2, 2012, at 5 p.m., at her residence following a short illness.

She was a nurse for many years in Franklin.

Mrs. Provost is survived by one son, Cleveland Paul Provost Jr. of Sorrell; one daughter, Johnye Myrle Hamilton of the St. Joseph Community; two brothers, Thaddeus J. Jackson and John T. Jackson of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Sandra A. Dixon Jenkins of Henderson, Nevada and Lorna F. Bell Greene of Kenner; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the St. Joseph Baptist Church in the St. Joseph Community.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. Ronald C. Young officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
