Hanson Memorial won the team title, and Ascension Episcopal’s Skyie Mejia won the individual title in a one-hole playoff at Tuesday’s Central Catholic High School’s Atchafalaya Invitational in Patterson.
The quartet of Bret Senette (72), Mason Tibbs (79), Doyle Tibbs (85) and Austin Luke (90) helped Hanson earn the team title with a team mark of 326. Hanson’s Eric Rogers also shot a 75.
In the individual competition, Mejia won the low medallist trophy after defeating Senette in a one-hole playoff.
The playoff was necessary after both finished their 18 holes of golf with a 72.
As for other team scoring, E.D. White finished second in the team competition, five strokes behind Hanson at 331, while Ascension Episcopal finished third with a team score of 339. The host squad, CCHS, finished fourth with a team score of 344.
CCHS was led by Chaz Galloway’s 75, while C.J. Laiche finished one stroke behind at 76. Bennett Duffy added a 91, while Miles Scarbrough posted a 102 for CCHS’ team total. CCHS’ Anthony Hunter also shot a 106.
