Furniture store owner

LAFAYETTE – Services will be Saturday for Home Furniture owner George Fleming. He died April 11 at age 67.

He opened his first retail Home Furniture store in 1972. The company now includes eight stores in Louisiana and Texas with a large distribution center in Lafayette.

Survivors include his wife Karol and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Martin & Castille.

Garden enthusiast

BUNKIE – Services for garden enthusiast and civic leader Marilynn Bordelon will be Saturday. She died April 11 at age 88.

She was former president of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation. She served on the Founding of Marskville Celebration Committees and was queen of the 1989 celebration and was a past board member of Camp Hardtner.

Survivors include a son and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Melancon.

Lawyer, preservationist

NEW ORLEANS – Services will be Monday for lawyer and preservationist William Christovich. He died Tuesday at age 85.

He practiced in Christovich & Kearney until 2010. He was among founders of Friends of the Cabildo, Save Our Cemeteries and Preservation Research Center.

Survivors include his wife Mary, two sons and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Lake Lawn Metairie.
