Also arrested by Assumption deputies were Samuel T. Johnson and Corey Jupiter of Napoleonville.
A deputy was approached by a woman at a convenience store near the bank, and told the deputy she saw three black males with masks and that they may be attempting to rob the bank. A foot chase resulted in the apprehension of two of the suspects, and the third was apprehended at a Napoleonville residence a few minutes later.
Johnson confessed and implicated his two accomplices. All three suspects are being held at the Assumption Parish Detention Center with no bonds set.
The Morgan City Police Department arrests included:
—Jose Arias, 42, of Morgan City, arrested Tuesday at 11:03 p.m. for domestic abuse battery. Incarcerated with no bond set.
—Christa Naquin, 25, of Amelia, arrested today at 3:06 a.m., charged with disturbing the peace by using loud abusive language and resisting an officer. Booked into City Jail with no bond set.
—Russell Chadwick, 55, of Morgan City, arrested today at 3:06 a.m., charged with simple battery. Booked into City Jail with no bond set.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:
—Stephen Charpentier, 33, of Sydney Lane, Franklin, arrested Tuesday at 6:41 a.m. for driving under suspension. Issued a summons to appear in court July 11.
—Kayla N. Morin, 22, of Levee Road, Morgan City, arrested Tuesday at 9:32 a.m. on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. Issued a summons to appear in court on July 11.
—Roderick B. Rodriguez, 40, of Hwy 182, Centerville, arrested Tuesday at 7:31 p.m. on warrants for failure to appear on the charge of failure to yield when entering from a private drive and failure to appear on the charges of speeding and no driver’s license on person. Booked into the parish jail with a $629 bond and later released.
