The event on Saturday, May 12, 2-4 p.m., is free and will feature a book talk by Caire, followed by a signing and reception with light refreshments. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
With more than 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, Caire chronicles Louisiana’s history of flight in “Louisiana Aviation” with nearly 200 vintage and contemporary photographs, many never-before published. Photos of early aviation pioneer John Moisant, air racing champion Gen. James Doolittle, barnstormer Roscoe Turner, aircraft designer James Wedell, and founder of Delta Airlines C.E. Woolman reflect Louisiana’s zeal for aeronautics. A captivating visual tour spanning 100 years, “Louisiana Aviation” celebrates the state’s contribution to air history.
LSU Press offers special thanks to the Louisiana State Museum, Don and Pat Lyle, and Alfred T. and Sandra W. Spain for their generous support.
