PPD officials declined further comment, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
A Patterson man was arrested Sunday evening for striking his wife by throwing a bowl at her.
Travis W. Montgomery, 37, of Bessie Street, Patterson, was arrested by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office on Sunday at 8:44 p.m. for domestic abuse battery. He and his wife were arguing, and he threw items around the residence and struck his wife with a bowl in the stomach area, Sheriff Mark Hebert said. He was allowed to leave the residence to be with family and to calm the situation.
Deputies were later called back to the residence with reports that Montgomery continued to call and text his wife, threatening her. Deputies went to 100 Andrew St. in Patterson and located him. He was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bond determined.

—Tracey Guillory, 40, and Charles L. Jackson, 43, both of Southeast Boulevard, Bayou Vista, arrested Saturday at 5:43 p.m. for domestic abuse battery. Both booked into the parish jail with no bond set.
The Berwick Police Department made three arrests over the weekend.
—Norman Richardson, 34, of Verdin Lane, Franklin, arrested at 8:33 p.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace by fighting. Released after posting $150 bond.
—Don Fryou, 24, of Terrebonne Street, Morgan City, arrested at 9:46 p.m. Sunday for simple battery, warrant for failure to appear in 32nd Judicial District court, warrant for failure to appear in 16th Judicial District court, warrant for failure to appear in 17th Judicial District court. Remains incarcerated.
—Reginald Edwards, 29, of Verdin Lane, Franklin, arrested at 8:33 p.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace by fighting, warrants for failure to appear in 16th Judicial District court on a probation hold. Remains incarcerated with no bond set.
The Morgan City Police Department made five arrests over the weekend.
—Justin Marzoni, 29, of Apple Street, Morgan City, arrested Friday at 7:45 a.m., charged with possession of Schedule II CSS-cocaine. Booked and incarcerated with no bond set.
—Eric Hartley, 31, of Terrebonne Street, Morgan City, arrested Saturday at 6:44 p.m., charged with theft by shoplifting. Booked and incarcerated with bond set at $482.
—Ricky Watts, 23, of Levee Road, Morgan City, arrested Saturday at 7:48 p.m. on a warrant for failure to pay fine. Incarcerated with no bond set.
—José Padua, 53 of Louisiana Street, Morgan City, arrested Saturday at 10:24 p.m. and charged with first offense driving while intoxicated and driving without headlights. Booked and incarcerated with no bond set.
—Christopher Caruso, 23, of Fig Street, Morgan City, arrested today at 1:28 a.m. and charged with disturbing the peace. Posted bond of $282 and was released.
