Elijah Peters, 77, a native of Verdunville and resident of Franklin, died June 2 at 8:35 a.m. at Franklin Foundation Hospital in Franklin.

Visitation will be Saturday at Jones Funeral Home in Franklin from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Little Zion Cemetery in Verdunville.

Survivors include five sons, Elijah Peters Jr. of Sacramento, Calif., Kerry Peters of Verdunville, Christopher Peters of Tucson, Ariz., Kennedy Gunner of Franklin and Eddie Wayne Campbell of Texas; two daughters, Jeanette Peters of Franklin and Lucinda Parker of Patterson; one sister, Ruby Moore of Franklin; one brother, Charles Peters of Franklin; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of relatives and friends.
