Barbecue contest set for July in MC

The Bayou BBQ Bash will be held under the E.J. “Lionel” Grizzaffi U.S. 90 bridge. The International Bar-B-Que Cookers Association-sanctioned event will be held Friday, July 13 (for participants) and July 14 for the public. Categories include pork spare ribs, brisket, chicken and a fully cooked brisket. Corporate cooking teams may apply and other features include a car show by Lirette Ford, a food booth serving brisket sandwiches benefiting Children’s Miracle Network and a children’s barbecue.
