Two arrested on Internet sex charges involving juveniles

Franklin Police investigated and subsequently arrested two persons accused of Internet solicitation of juveniles in the city.

Chief Sabria McGuire said detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division Technology Unit arrested John Edward Westerfield, 20, of Donaldsonville Saturday.

Detectives reportedly received information regarding Westerfield and a juvenile, age 15, via the Internet.

He was charged with computer aided solicitation of a minor for sexual purposes and attempted possession of pornography involving a juvenile. No bond was set.

In a separate arrest, John-Andrew Reddock, 22, of Lafayette, was arrested Sunday on charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile, attempted possession of pornography involving a juvenile and computer aided solicitation of a minor for sexual purposes.

Reddock is accused of involvement with a 15-year-old via the Internet. He was released on $25,000 bond.
