Gregory Weston, 33, of Utah Street, Berwick, was arrested at 6:20 p.m.
He turned himself in to the Berwick Police Department on a St. Mary Sheriff’s Department warrant for third offense domestic abuse battery, Berwick Police Chief James Richard said.
He was transferred to parish jail where he remained incarcerated this morning with no bond set.
Elsewhere, Richard said the BPD had the following arrests over the weekend:
—Julia Bailey, 51, Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, was arrested at 7:19 a.m. Friday on Sixth Street in Berwick on four counts of forgery. Posted bond and was released. No bond amount was available this morning.
—Brenda Stratton, 33, of Second Street, Berwick, was arrested at 1:08 p.m. Friday. She turned herself in after learning of a warrant for simple battery. Posted $250 bond and released.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests over the weekend, according to Sheriff Mark Hebert:
—Julia Bailey, 51, of Lake Palourde Drive, Amelia, was arrested at 12:05 p.m. Friday at the Berwick Police Department for forgery. During questioning, Bailey admitted to forging checks in December. She was released on a summons to appear in court.
—Jose Hernandez, 52, of La. 182, Franklin, was arrested at 6:37 p.m. Sunday at the sheriff’s department in Morgan City for no driver’s license, careless operation of a motor vehicle, hit and run and failure to report an accident. The arrest results from the complaint of an accident on Victoria Riverside Road in Patterson in which a deputy discovered a crashed vehicle in a sugar cane field. The driver could not be located initially. Hernandez was released on a summons to appear in court.
—Brandon J. Eues, 22, of Tower Tank Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. Sunday at My Place Lounge in Berwick on a warrant for failure to appear for operating a vehicle without a driver’s license. A deputy assisting Berwick police with a complaint of a disturbance learned of the warrant for Eues. He later was released after posting a $279.50 bond.
—Rafael Bibian, 44, and José Bibian, 25, both of Lenny’s Lane, Amelia, were arrested at 2:08 a.m. Sunday at home for simple battery after a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on West Syls Lane in Amelia. The victim stated that during a verbal altercation, J. Bibian struck him. During the fight, the victim was thrown to the ground and struck by both J. Bibian and R. Bibian. Both were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration, and both were released on $500 bonds.
The Patterson Police Department reports the following arrests overnight, according to Chief Patrick M. LaSalle:
—Kamfut Hassan, 28, of Tiffany Street, Patterson, was arrested at home at 6:43 p.m. Sunday for second offense domestic abuse battery. Remains incarcerated with bond not yet set.
—Ahrieon Francis, 25, of Camille Drive, Patterson, was arrested on Tiffany Street at 6:43 p.m. Sunday for domestic abuse battery. Remains incarcerated with bond not yet set.
—Chanedra Jones, 35, of Williams Street, Patterson, was arrested at home at 11:33 p.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace fighting. Released on bond of $289.
—Dontreal Merrit, 30, of Live Oak Street, Patterson, was arrested on Williams Street at 11:35 p.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace fighting. Remains incarcerated with a $289 bond.
The Morgan City Police Department reports the following arrests over the weekend, according to Chief Marc Folse:
—Myles Morgan, 24, of Front Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:32 a.m. Saturday for resisting an officer, two counts of simple battery on a police officer, a warrant for failure to appear for paying a probation fee and probation violation. Morgan remained incarcerated with no bond set.
—Brady Bray, 35, of Spruce Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 6 p.m. Sunday for second offense driving while intoxicated, reckless operation of a vehicle, suspended driver’s license, open container violation and no brake lights. Incarcerated in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
