The Morgan City Police Department arrested two males in one traffic stop at 5:13 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Sixth Street and Brashear Avenue, according to Chief Marc Folse:

—Adrian Theriot, 40, of West 63rd Street, Cutoff, arrested and charged with failure to use turn signal, open container violation and possession of drug paraphernalia.

—Dannie Hayes, 53, of Leona Street, Morgan City, arrested and charged with resisting an officer by false information, resisting an officer with force/violence, open container violation, possession of drug paraphernalia and a hold for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office for six counts of failure to appear for arraignment.

MCPD stopped a vehicle, driven by Theriot, for failure to use a turn signal. Vehicle was stopped at Sixth Street and Brashear. He was advised of the reason for the stop and subsequently submitted to a search. Theriot was found in possession of a suspected crack pipe and was arrested. Officers interviewed the passenger, who initially gave officers a false name. Once he was positively identified as Hayes, officers attempted to arrest him, and he resisted. Hayes was found in possession of a suspected crack pipe and was also arrested. It was also discovered that Hayes had active warrants from Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s office for failure to appear.

Both Hayes and Theriot were booked and incarcerated with no bond yet set.
