Two local high school football teams are set to scrimmage today as well as one volleyball team.
Central Catholic High School is set to host Ellender Memorial today at 5:30 p.m. at the CCHS practice field, while Morgan City and Patterson High schools both will travel. Morgan City will participate in a split scrimmage at White Castle against both the home squad and Donaldsonville. Action is set for 5 p.m. Patterson also will scrimmage Plaquemine at 5:30 p.m.
While it wasn’t considered a scrimmage, Patterson already has seen its first action in full pads against an opponent at the Louisiana High School Coaches Clinic last Friday. The squad topped Pope John Paul, 34-7 in the 40-minute matchup.
As for volleyball, MCHS will face E.D. White and Terrebonne in a split scrimmage, set for 4 p.m. at MCHS.
On Friday, the Berwick High School football team will travel to face Jeanerette for a 5:30 p.m. scrimmage.
On Saturday, Central Catholic’s volleyball team will continue its tune up for the upcoming season with a scrimmage on the road against Ascension Episcopal.
