—Megan E. Fontenot, 23, of Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, was arrested at her residence at 7:33 p.m. Tuesday for remaining where forbidden. A deputy responded to a complaint of a female refusing to leave the home. She remains jailed with bail set at $500.
—Joanie L. Williams, 50, of Terrebonne Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday at Wal-Mart in Bayou Vista for theft. The deputy learned from store security that Williams was observed on surveillance cameras placing items in her purse. She was released on a summons to appear in court.
—Reed Rhodes Jr., 35, of Ehrlich Street, Berwick, was arrested at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday at Bay Offshore on Degravelle Road in Amelia for simple battery and simple assault. He remains jailed with bail set at $750.
The Berwick Police Department reported one arrest overnight, according to Chief James Richard:
—Agnes Stratton, 35, Rose Street, Berwick, was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the police department when she turned herself in on an outstanding warrant for remaining where forbidden. The warrant was from the Berwick Police Department for returning numerous times to her ex-boyfriend’s house after being told to stay away. She was released upon payment of a $250 bail.
The Morgan City Police Department reports the following arrests overnight, according to Chief Marc Folse:
—Jerrie Phillips, 54, of La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the police department on a warrant for probation violation. He turned himself in and remains jailed with bail set at $2,500.
—Noe Milla, 35, of 16th Street, Gretna, was arrested at 7:27 p.m. Tuesday at the Twin City Motel on charges of aggravated assault and simple battery. Officers were called to the motel in regards to a disturbance. Milla is alleged to have punched the other subject in the face and threatened to cut him. She remains jailed with bail not set.
—Kevin Shifflett, 32, of La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:41 a.m. today and charged with simple criminal damage to property, simple battery, criminal trespassing, resisting an officer, a warrant for driving while intoxicated second offense and probation violation.
Officers were called to a residence on La. 182 regarding damage to property. Upon arrival, they were told that Shifflett had damaged an air vent at the residence. When he was confronted by the owner, Shifflett is alleged to have pushed him and took off running. With a description of Shifflett, officers located him on Justa Street behind a business. As officers approached, Shifflett attempted to run after being told he was being placed under arrest. He also did not have permission to enter onto the business’ property. Once at the station, a warrant check revealed the additional warrants. He remains jailed with bail not set.
