Turnovers hurt the Hanson Memorial Tigers in their 20-0 loss to the Catholic High of Point Coupee Hornets Friday at McCloskey Field.

Hanson, which lost starting senior quarterback Drake Rodriguez during last week’s loss to the Ascension Catholic Bulldogs in Donaldsonville, turned to freshman quarterback Beau Barrilleaux, who finished with eight completions for 103 yards.

Hanson committed four fumbles and three interceptions while gaining 237 yards on the night. The Tigers rushed for 134 yards along with 103 yards through the air.

Catholic High managed a 15-yard touchdown in the first quarter along with two additional scores in the fourth period. Catholic High’s Andrew Jarreau caught a 15-yard scoring strike from quarterback Jonas Guichat. Cole Frey added a 33 yard run before Ethan McGraw plowed his way for a 3-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring.

Drake Businelle led the Tigers in rushing with 12 carries for 84 yards while Collin Broussard rushed 10 times for 46 yards.

Beau Barrilleaux completed eight passes for 103 yards.

Royce Norton had four receptions for 24 yards while Beau LeBlanc made two catches for 59 yards and Payton Kellebrew had two receptions for 20 yards.

Hanson (0-2) will play host to Pine Prairie on Friday at McCloskey Field.
