Larry and Lessie Notto of Glencoe wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Deanna Lessie Bowie to Jason Antoine Pickney.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Bowie Sr. She is a graduate of West St. Mary High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she received a bachelor of science degree in business administration. She is currently employed with the Dallas County Community College District.

The prospective groom is the son of Eugene Brooks of Lafayette and Janice Fajobi of Lafayette. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Junious Brooks of Opelousas, Samuel Smith and the late Mildred Pickney. He is a graduate of Northside High School in Lafayette and Southern A&M University in Baton Rouge where he received a bachelor of science degree in nursing. He is currently employed with Medical City Dallas Hospital.

The couple will exchange vows during a private ceremony.
