AMELIA, La. -- South Louisiana Electric Cooperative Association will have three planned outages — affecting customers from Amelia to Stephensville — due to work Cleco will be performing at its substation.

Cleco customers will not be affected.

The SLECA outages are scheduled for Tuesday; Sept. 29; and Oct. 4, each from 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting.

Anyone dependent on life support systems or with other medical needs should take necessary precautions.

Cleco is performing work at its substation that, in turn, feeds the SLECA Bayou Ramos Substation.

“Though all three planned outages are being scheduled early in the pre-dawn morning so they will affect as few people as possible, SLECA apologizes for any inconvenience the outages may cause,” said Joe Ticheli, SLECA general manager.

“The outages are necessary to continue to provide our members with quality electric service,” Ticheli added.

SLECA serves more than 15,000 consumers in Assumption, Lafourche, St. Mary, St. Martin and Terrebonne parishes and is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative.
