BAYOU VISTA, La. — Berry Brothers Remediation in Bayou Vista has been purchased by American Pollution Control Corp., an oil spill response and environmental solutions provider.
The Bayou Vista location is equipped to handle Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material Remediation and decontamination, AMPOL President and CEO Kirk Headley said.
AMPOL has offices in New Iberia and Harvey, according to its website.
AMPOL, according to its website, is a full-service environmental remediation company and contractor that specializes in inland, near-shore and offshore emergency response and hazardous waste remediation. Serving oil and gas companies, industrial companies and government agencies, AMPOL provides emergency and non-emergency toxic and hazardous materials containment, collection and assistance with transport and disposal.
Features of the Bayou Vista facility include a five-acre dockside to load and unload boats in addition to a large loading and unloading zone for trucks. The location of the Bayou Vista site allows immediate access to Gulf waters.
Under the management of Bo Sanner, AMPOL’s NORM facility manager, AMPOL will expand its regional presence .
“With new locations in Nederland, Texas, and Bayou Vista, our business is continuing to grow to meet the needs of our clients,” Headley said. “This new, centrally-located waterfront location will not only provide us with an additional base of operations for our many services, but it will also greatly increase the range of NORM services we offer.”
AMPOL employs about 200 employees and offers oil spill response, tank cleaning, confined space entry services, NORM treatment and storage, lead and asbestos abatement services, insulation services, hazardous material emergency cleanup, soil remediation, demolition services, marine transportation and spill equipment manufacturing.
Berry Brothers Remediation was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Berry Brothers General Contractors Inc. in Berwick.
