Former LSU ag center, LSUA chancellor

ALEXANDRIA – Services for former LSU Alexandria chancellor and LSU Ag Center chancellor emeritus Dr. H. Rouse Caffey will be Tuesday. He died Sept. 29 at age 83.

He retired from LSU AgCenter as chancellor and prior to that was chancellor of LSUA. He had served as associated director of the LSU Ag Experiment Station and superintendent of the LSU Rice Experiment Station in Crowley.

After retirement, he served as interim vice president of Louisiana College and interim chancellor of LSUA. He was also an agricultural consultant with clients around the world.

Survivors include his wife Lois, two sons and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Hixson Bros.

Principal, personnel director

WOODWORTH – Services for retired educator Raymond Bamburg, Jr. were Sunday. He died Sept. 28 at age 82.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Koran War. He was a teacher and principal at Alexandria Junior High before becoming the first principal of Alexandria Senior High, a post he held 14 years before becoming Rapides School Board Personnel Director for seven years. and principal of Northwood High after retirement.

Survivors include two daughters.

Arrangements were by Hixson Bros.

NOPSI engineering director

NEW ORLEANS – Former director of engineering for New Orleans Public Service Herbert “Deke” Hauer died Sept. 26 at age 84.

He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was also retired from Entergy.

Survivors include a daughter.

Arrangements are by Lakelawn, Metairie.

Retired grocer

BROUSSARD – Services for long-time grocer Paul Girouard will be Monday. He died Sept. 27 at age 86.

He owned and operated Girouard’s Grocery for more than 50 years. He also raised champion Rottweilers.

Survivors include a son and three daughters.

Arrangements are by Delhomme.

Teacher, principal

SCOTT – Services for retired educator Eloi Comeaux, Jr. will be Tuesday. He died Sept. 29 at age 85.

He was a teacher and principal at Scott High and Scott Middle School from 1952 until 1982.

Survivors include his wife Barbara and two sons.

Arrangements are by Martin & Castille.

Champion LSU boxer, decorated vet

BATON ROUGE – Services for former LSU champion boxer W.O. “Pee Wee” Moss will be Tuesday.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and held two Bronze Stars. He was a retired educator and coach. He led his LSU boxing team to the national championship and was an NCAA champion.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Resthaven.

Florist

BATON ROUGE – Services for long-time florist Lonna Coles will be Wednesday. She died Sept. 29 at age 88.

She was the first female president of the Louisiana State Florists Association.

Survivors include a son.

Arrangements are by Rabenhorst.
