St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests.

Chase Joseph Crappell, 18, of 124 Burchfield Lane, Berwick, was arrested Thursday at 1:55 p.m. on a warrant charging him with aggravated battery. No bond was set.

Robert C. Beatty, 61, of 100 Stephens Lane, No. 1, Centerville, was arrested Friday at 2:20 p.m. on charges of disturbing the peace intoxicated and remaining where forbidden. He was released on $750 bond.

Homer Rickey Romero, 59, of 370 Hunting Road, Ricohoc, was arrested Saturday at 6:51 a.m. on charges of two counts of aggravated assault and illegal use of a weapon. He reportedly threatened persons with a handgun, and fired it as they drove away. No bond was set.

Travis James Morin, 29, of 408 Darlene St., Patterson, was arrested Saturday at 3:10 p.m. on a warrant charging him with issuing worthless checks. He was released on a summons.

Joey Verdun, 40, of 617 Martin Luther King Road, Charenton, was arrested Saturday at 3:12 p.m. on charges of hit and run, careless operation, simple criminal damage to property, driving under suspension and a warrant charging him with issuing worthless checks. He was held on $3,250.

J’von Smith, 25, of 610 Third St., Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 6:10 a.m. on charges of introduction of contraband into a jail and second offense possession of synthetic marijuana. No bond was set.

Chitimacha Police Chief Blaise Smith reported the arrest of Kendrick Edmond, 20, and Linel Toussaint, 23, of Charenton, Friday at 11:35 a.m. on charges of criminal trespassing, and Edmond was also charged with theft, resisting an officer and resisting by flight and Toussaint was charged with resisting an officer by flight. No bonds were set.

Craig Barrett, 22, of Charenton, was arrested Sunday at 2 a.m. on a charge of disturbing the peace intoxicated. He was released on a summons.

Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported that the Franklin Police Criminal Investigation Division Technology Unit and East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a joint investigation that led to the arrest of Dr. James Arthur Hargroder, 64, of Baton Rouge on Internet-related sex charges Friday 6:29 p.m.

Assisting in the arrest was the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office Technology Unit, Louisiana State Police and the Department of Homeland Security-ICE.

Detectives worked undercover posing online as female and male juveniles for two months. Hargroder reportedly engaged in “lewd and lascivious behavior” with the agents, including exposing himself on a webcam.

Warrants were issued and Hargroder was arrested at his residence. He was released on $125,000 in East Baton Rouge Parish and transported to Franklin Police where he was charged with warrants charging him with attempted possession of pornography involving juveniles, three counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and three counts of computer-aided solicitation of a minor for sexual purposes.

He remains jailed in Franklin.

In unrelated arrests, Jesse Hart, 20, of Houma, was arrested Thursday at 3:51 p.m. on a warrant charging him with theft. No bond was set.

Christopher Nedd, 41, of Willow Street, Franklin, was arrested Friday at 5:04 p.m. on a charge of disturbing the peace intoxicated. He was held on $250 bond.

Mark Anthony Jones, 35, of Bayou View Drive, Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 3:22 a.m. on charges of two counts battery on an officer. He was released on $3,000 bond.

Braylan Hamilton, 28, of Augustine Maze Street, Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 5:02 a.m. on a charge of simple battery and resisting an officer with force. He was released on $1,500 bond.

Marcus Ja’Juan Parker, 21, of James Street, Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 5:36 p.m. on a charge of criminal damage to property. He was held on $1,000 bond.

Jumichael Dewayne Smith, 33, of Sixth Street, Franklin, was arrested Sunday at 1:59 a.m. on a charge of disturbing the peace by fighting. He was released on $250 bond.

Debra Menchella Davis, 43, of Robertson Street, Franklin, was arrested Sunday at 2:01 a.m. on a charge of disturbing the peace by fighting. She was released on $250 bond.

A 14-year-old female was arrested Thursday and charged with disturbing the peace by fighting.

Three males, ages 12 and two age 14, were arrested Friday on charges of disturbing the peace by fighting.

All juveniles were released to guardians pending juvenile court.
