Mr. Albert L. Bennett, 85, a resident and native of Patterson, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at 11:40 a.m., at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City following a short illness.

He is survived by three sons, Darryl W. Bennett and wife, Penny, of Franklin; Don T. Bennett Sr. and wife, Madonna, of Mansura; and Alan C. Bennett Sr. and wife, Helen, of Patterson; two daughters, Karen Thomas and Patricia Bennett of Patterson; two brothers, Donald Bennett Sr. and Bertrand Bennett of Patterson; three sisters, Alberta Richard, Frankie M. Ladday and Gracie Mae Jennings of Patterson; 28 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, one grandchild, one sister and three brothers.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Good Hope Baptist Church in Patterson.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. Patrick T. Jones Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Shield Cemetery in Patterson.
