Anyone who is not registered to vote and wishes to vote on Nov. 6 presidential and congressional elections must be registered on or before Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Office hours for the Registrar of Voters Office are 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Anyone needing to register who has a current Louisiana driver’s license can also register online at the website for the Secretary of State at wwwgeauxvote.com.

Residents are reminded to please furnish all required information for the application to be sent electronically. If their information does not match with the Office of Motor Vehicles, or if any information is missing, they will have to print out the completed application, sign and mail it to their local Registrar of Voters Office.

Early voting for the Nov. 6 election will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 23 and will continue through Tuesday, Oct. 30. Hours for early voting are 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. Since election day is on a Tuesday, there will only be one Saturday of early voting instead of two. Despite there being only one Saturday, there will still be seven full days of voting

Voters are asked to please have their choices made before coming in to vote. Sample ballots are available at www.geauxvote.com or at the Registrar’s office. Details on the proposed constitutional amendments are also available. On the ballot will be:

—President and Vice President of the United States.

—U.S. Representative, 3rd Congressional District.

—Louisiana Public Service Commissioner, District 2.

—Judge, Court of Appeal, 1st Circuit, 1st District, Division B.

—Morgan City Mayor and City Council Districts 1, 3, 4, and 5.

—Nine proposed constitutional amendments.

—Local option election within the St. Mary Parish School District regarding term limits for school board members.
