Three of four local teams rise in state power rankings

Morgan City, Berwick and Central Catholic all jumped in the latest unofficial volleyball power rankings released by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Tuesday morning, while Patterson fell.

According to the rankings, Morgan City jumped from 13th last week to 11th. Its current power ranking is 9.16.

In Class 3A, Berwick and Patterson switched places from a week ago as Berwick jumped to 18th and Patterson fell to 21st. Berwick’s power ranking is 6.51, while Patterson’s is 5.81.

In Class 1A, CCHS climbed one spot from a week ago to No. 3. Its current power ranking is 12.54.

Breaux Bridge continues to lead Division II with a power ranking of 13.83, while in Division III, Ben Franklin took the top spot from last week’s leader, E.D. White, with a power ranking of 12.85

Episcopal School of Acadiana is tops in Division V with a 13.89 power ranking.
