Bessie Gant Turner, 70, a resident of Patterson and a native of Morgan City, died Friday, October 5, 2012, at 1:38 a.m., at Teche Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 13 at Good Hope Baptist Church in Patterson, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Patterson Memorial Cemetery.

Bessie leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Wayne Turner of Patterson, Nelson Turner of Baton Rouge and Leslie Turner Gant of Port Allen; two daughters, Celeste Turner Murray of Newport News, Virginia and Stephanie Turner Bartley of Patterson; one brother, Russell Gant of Patterson; three sisters, Dorris Gant, Iris Gant-Butler and Cheryl Gant-Weeden, all of Patterson; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
