Harriet Darlene Harris, 50, a resident and native of Baldwin, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at 1:57 p.m., at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport following a short illness.

She is survived by her parents, Lawrence Sr. and Alice Harris of Morgan City; one son, Darrell Harris of Baldwin; four daughters, Tawanna Harris, Quintasha Harris and Ashley Harris, all of Opelousas, and Zabrienna Harris of Morgan City; four brothers, Lawrence (Cheryl) Harris Jr. of Abbeville, Warren Harris of Lake Charles, Kevin Harris of Houston, Texas and Patrick (Latasha) Harris of Lafayette; two sisters, Franzina Williams of Houston, Texas and Rose James of Baldwin; and six grandchildren.

Visitations will be observed Thursday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Otis Mortuary Chapel.

Burial rites will be read Thursday, at 1 p.m., at the mortuary, with the Rev. Terry L. Joseph officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Methodist Cemetery in Baldwin.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
