MORGAN CITY — The Morgan City High School Lady Tigers fell to Assumption 3-0 (12-25, 18-26, 19-25) in district action at home Thursday.
For Morgan City, Kloé Liner had six digs, seven kills, a block and two aces, while Jaiveianna Jones recorded nine kills, five digs and a block.
Other top Lady Tigers contributors included Katelyn Adams, four kills, 15 assists and four digs; Marilynn Bailey, nine digs and two kills; Elizabeth Esteban, six digs; and Savannah Loupe, five digs and an ace.
In junior varsity action, Morgan City fell 17-25, 21-25.
Bailey had an ace and an assist as well as two kills and five digs in the loss, while Alexandra Thompson added three kills, two aces and a dig.
Other top Lady Tigers contributors included Taylor Prince, two kills, four assists, three digs and an ace; LeeAnne Price, an ace and 13 digs; Layne Reynaud, a kill, four assists and two digs; Tyler Hebert, an ace, two assists and three digs; and Brandi Ingram, an ace, a kill and three digs.
The Morgan City freshmen also fell, 11-25, 14-25.
Central Catholic sweeps
West St. John
Central Catholic defeated West St. John in three games in district action Wednesday, including an impressive 25-1 win in the first game.
After the sound victory in the first game, CCHS picked up consecutive 25-14 wins in games two and three.
CCHS converted an impressive 12 aces in the victory.
Brie Hill led the squad with nine kills, a dig and a solo block, while Caroline Byrne had 18 assists, four aces and two digs.
Other top CCHS contributors included Meo Knight, five kills and seven digs; Abbie Bergeron, two aces and 11 digs; Amanda Barron, four kills, an assist and two digs; Celine Flores, four kills and three digs; Olivia Crawford, four aces and two digs; Megan Landry, three kills, an assist and two digs; Maddie Conrad, 10 assists; and Maria Templet, five digs.
