A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at 12 p.m., at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin for Mrs. Dorothy Hernandez Boudreaux, 74, a Church Point native and longtime resident of Sorrel, who passed away Monday morning October 22, 2012, at her home.
Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Fr. Gregory Cormier will officiate the services.
Mrs. Dot was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed fishing and cooking. But her real passion in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Arnold “Tut” J. Boudreaux of Sorrel; their three children, Dena B. Terrebonne and her husband, Alvin, of Baldwin; Randy Boudreaux and his wife, Geralyn “Tee” of Sorrel; and Valerie B. Duhon and her husband, Rob, of Adeline; four half-sisters, Darlene, Pam, Jackie and Melissa; seven grandchildren, Sara Breaux, Savannah Gay, Tim Terrebonne, Macy Boudreaux, Morgan Billiot, Tyler Boudreaux and Gavin Duhon; one great granddaughter, Alexus Terrebonne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dalton Hernandez and Rena Vienne Hernandez; and her foster parents, Louis Richard and Ola Richard, who raised her from the age of nine months old following the death of her mother.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, from 10 a.m. until Mass at 12 p.m.
