Berwick tennis squad receives championship rings

THE BERWICK HIGH SCHOOL tennis team, which won the Division 3 state

championship this past spring, received state championship rings during halftime of the Berwick-Hanson Memorial football game Oct. 11. BHS Principal Buffy Fegenbush and St. Mary Parish Athletic Director Lenny Armato made the presentations. Team members include, front row from left, Signe Parsiola, Anne Lee Parsiola, Claire Parsiola, Mary Margaret Sanford, Carolyn Sanford and Morgan Mitchell. On the back row are the team members’ parents, Lisa and Dr. Charlie Parsiola, Gina and Joe Sanford and Elizabeth Mitchell. Gina Sanford, along with Charlotte Menard, coached the squad. Two team members, Claire and Anne Lee Parsiola, teamed up to win the Division 3 state championship in doubles, too.
