The 13th annual event was held Saturday in downtown Franklin. It kicked off early in the morning with the Teche Action Clinic Adeline Guienze Breast Cancer Memorial Fund 5-K Run/Walk and proceeded from there with vendor booths, car show, chili cook off and live entertainment.
In the chili competition, first place went to Tricia Luke with Antoine “Bozo” Luke Farms; second place was awarded to Billy Adams with Team Meatslingers; and the People’s Choice award went to Mike Theriot of Scotty’s Towing.
Car show awards were:
Longest Distance: John Vaughan, Lake Charles.
Best Chevy: A tie between Mark Romero, 1967 Chevy Camaro RS and Philip Loudermilk 1958 Chevrolet Apache stepside pickup.
Best Truck: John Vaughn, 1929 Ford truck.
Best Street Rod: Harold J. Louviere Jr., 1934 Plymouth sedan.
Best Motorcycle: Darin Hebert, 2009 Harley Davidson Street Glide.
Best Rat Rod: Torry Landry, 1930 Ford coupe.
Best Mopar: Daniel Lassere, 1966 Dodge Charger.
Best Ford: Frank Mendoza, 1955 Ford Thunderbird.
Best Antique: John Vaughan, 1930 Ford Truck.
