MORGAN CITY, La. -- Techeland Arts Council will be participating in Morgan City’s “Jazzin It Up for 200 Years” in Lawrence Park from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday.

On sale will be the recently released book, “St. Mary Parish, Images of America,” written by Julana M. Senette. Through pictures and words, Senette reveals the rich and colorful history of the people and communities of St. Mary Parish. The book sells for $21.99, and Senette will be on hand to autograph books. All proceeds benefit the arts council.

Teachland Arts Council is a non-profit arts organization made up of local volunteers representing a cross-section of St. Mary Parish. The council is an advocate for public art, and sponsors performances and presentations chronicling the dramatized history and culture of the Techeland area.
