HOUMA – Louisiana State Police Troop C was notified Wednesday afternoon that a 14-year-old boy involved in a Nov. 2 crash on Country Estates Drive in Terrebonne Parish died from his injuries sustained in the crash.

The investigation revealed that on Friday, Nov. 2, shortly after 6 p.m., bicyclist Logan Bergeron, 14, of Gray was traveling westbound on Country Estates Drive in the westbound lane as a 1998 Dodge Ram truck was traveling eastbound on Country Estates Drive.

The Dodge was being driven by Stephen Pellegrin, 28, of Houma.

As the Dodge Ram approached, Bergeron entered the eastbound lane of Country Estates Dr. and was struck.

Pellegrin, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured in the crash, but Bergeron was ejected from the bicycle.

Pellegrin submitted to a breath test and was found to be above the legal BAC limit of .08, troopers said.

Pellegrin was arrested for DWI and further charges are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
