Several Bayou Vista Garden Club members traveled to Atchafalaya Swamp Treasures in Pierre Part to tour the driftwood museum. Adam Morales makes structures out of natural pieces of driftwood. He doesn’t carve, whittle, shape or sand and rarely cuts the pieces. He washes them off and puts them together with suitable partners using the pieces he finds in nature to create a familiar image; such as the Statue of Liberty. While there, club members selected driftwood to use for floral designs, planting bromeliads and other plants, and as artistic pieces.
