Nine corrections academy graduates successfully completed a 90-hour Post Level III Corrections Course. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office held a ceremony at the Forest Restaurant to recognize the graduates for their accomplishment. With certification for the Post Level III Corrections Course, the sheriff’s department conducts training for its own personnel as well as law enforcement officers from other local and regional agencies. The course covers a variety of disciplines including the role of a corrections officer, jail functions and security, inmate supervision, defense tactics and emergency response. Pictured are Capt.
